Stephen R. Ricks is a trial lawyer concentrating in insurance defense, personal injury, products liability and commercial litigation.

Mr. Ricks was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on May 12, 1966. He attended Lamar University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science in 1988. Mr. Ricks obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1993.

Prior to joining Taylor & Warren, L.L.P. in 2000, Mr. Ricks was an attorney with Brown & Fortunato, P.C. in Amarillo, Texas from 1995 through 2000. Prior to Brown & Fortunato, P.C., he was associated with the law firm of Tom Upchurch, Jr. & Associates.

Mr. Ricks is licensed to practice in the State Courts of Texas, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas.

Mr. Ricks is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Bar Association. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association from 1999 through 2000 and served as Secretary of that organization. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Amarillo Area Adult Literacy Council from 1997 through 2000.
